Siblings Struck by Vehicle and Metro Bus, Young Girl Dead

(KSDK) -- A teenage boy and his five-year-old sister were struck by a vehicle and knocked under a Metro bus in north St. Louis Monday afternoon.

Schron Jackson, a spokesperson for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, said the incident took place at the intersection of North Sarah Street and Kennerly Avenue.

Authorities said a 14-year-old boy and young girl were riding a bike in the curb lane when they were hit from behind by a vehicle and knocked into the bus' path. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended a short time later.

A relative identified the siblings as Greg Womack and Chamera Motley. Womack supposedly picked up his sister from the nearby YMCA and the two were riding home on his bicycle when they were struck.

Jackson said Motley died at the scene. Womack was rushed to St. Louis Children's Hospital in critical condition, according to a spokesman from the fire department.

NewsChannel 5 will have more information on this story as details become available.
